THE MARAH IS OVER

THE MARAH IS OVER

TEXT: Exodus 15:23-25

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them

INTRODUCTION

Under God, I stand on the revelation of this scripture to curse every root of bitterness in your life. Let every part of your life, destiny, family, career, ministry that the enemy has labelled marah be made sweet.

WHAT IS MARAH

Marah means bitter. The children of Israel had just crossed the red sea, and and as they make progress in their journey, they came to a place called “Marah“.

  • Marah spiritually speaks of that bitter/frustrating/helpless/hopeless junction along the path of a man making progress to his promised land.

It is that bitterness the enemy has projected or planted along the path to your promised land.

There is no man travelling to his promised land that will not get to his own Marah. How do I know, that scripture says, “and when they came to Marah”. Observe that the word used is WHEN. So it is a junction no man that is on the path to his promise land can avoid.

When they got to Marah, they discovered that it’s water was bitter and they were thirsty so out of their frustrations they murmured.

  • Marah is that bitter situation the enemy want to bring your way so as to get you frustrated to the point of speaking against God or using your words carelessly.

They were thirsty and needed water to drink. Now the one they saw was bitter. What an experience? So many people have seen themselves in such situations. Am talking about the period you needed to hear good news but what came was bad one. Am talking about a time in a man’s life that he is thirsty of good job, and now finally ended up in one that is frustrating. Am talking about a woman that has been barren over the years, expecting that one day she will carry her own baby now becomes pregnant and on the day to deliver, the child died. What a bitter situation?

Am talking about that bad situation you see yourself in the season you are need of something good. Such experience can be very bitter. This marah refers to a young lady being thirsty of marriage and now finally gets married to a bully. Am talking about being thirsty of expansion in your business and now wake up with the news that your business centre has been totally burnt. It is when you’re thirsty of living a sound spiritual life and end up seeing yourself every now and then back to that same sin. Such experience is called, Marah Experience.

Marah has water to offer but unfortunately the one it has is a bitter one. This is the enemy provoking bitterness in a man’s life when he needed something satisfying and comforting. When they needed water to quench their thirst was when bitter one came. I pray for you, may that not be your portion. Imagine when you are in need of money, that is when you will enter into one case or the other. Marah experience is a painful one. It is frustrating and bitter. But today, let such experience end in your life in the name of Jesus.

A particular lady cried out and said, why must it be only men interested in sex that is coming around me now I need to be married?

Yes it’s obvious you are thirsty for something good just like the children of Israel but the enemy wants to give you bitterness as an alternative. I reject it for you

Today, let such satanic program for your life fail in the name of Jesus.

THE EXPERIENCE OF NAOMI

Ruth 1:19-21 has this to say;

[19]Now the two of them went until they came to Bethlehem. And it happened, when they had come to Bethlehem, that all the city was excited because of them; and the women said, “Is this Naomi?”

[20]But she said to them, “Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.

[21]I went out full, and the Lord has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the Lord has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?”

Naomi one day found herself in this marah situation. She said to them don’t call me Naomi, rather call me marah. It was the situation she found herself into that brought about this name. She left with her husband and two sons just but came back with her daughters in-law only. It’s bitter.

I discovered that the enemy takes the advantage of our being careless to seek the Lord’s direction to bring us into this bitter situations. When you don’t seek the Lord’s direction on the next step to take, you may end in marah. That was the experience of Naomi. They left Bethlehem in search of bread without asking God where to go. May be they must have heard that bread was in Moab so they moved to Moab and that was where the enemy dealt bitterly with them.

I charge you today, don’t be too quick in taking decisions in life. Involve God in all your decisions and He will guide your path to glorious end.

THE GOODNEWS

Having seen that it is a junction everybody on the path to the promised land must pass through, therefore be encouraged. Such experience is an indication that you’re getting close to your promised land. Marah is part of the journey to your inheritance. Immediately they left Marah the next place they got to was Elim, see Exodus 15:27. Elim was a place where there are 12 wells of water. I declare over your life, God is about to lauch you out bitterness into aboundace of sweetness.

As the covenant seeds of God, our case becomes different when we encounter our Marah.  To the enemy, he wants us to die or be permanently frustrated in the Marah experience, but being a child of the covenant changes the game for us. Glory to God. The enemy planned it for evil but the Lord turned it around for good. So hear ye the Word of the Lord, the Lord has gone ahead of you, so instead of evil erupting from that situation, testimony will come out of it.

The enemy thought that the children of God will die of thirsty as a result of the bitterness of Marah water, but God intervened and showed Moses a tree, so shall the Lord show you that “tree of solution” that will change the game for you.

THE WAY OUT

May I submit to you that the Lord had already made available the solution to every marah experience the enemy has prepared for you.

The bible says, when they couldn’t drink of Marah water, Moses cried unto the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree…

Now cry out to the Lord…
