Warring Against Herodic Witchcraft Spirit
Introduction
Our case study for this piece is Herod.
Warring against the spirit of Herod.
Herod operated with a high-level witchcraft spirit. He was a bloody king, I’m going to be showing us some salient things about his life that made him a brutal wizard.
Let’s read the below scripture.
Matthew 2:1-3
[1]Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, [2]saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” [3] When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Meanwhile, we have about 5 Herods in the bible and all were brutal
We have:
- Herod the Great
- Herod Antipas
- Herod Agrippa 1 and 2 Etc
All these men that answered Herod in the bible had one thing in common which is Wickedness. So when we say Herod, we are not just calling name, rather we are dealing with a spirit
Hear me, Jesus was born in the days of Herod, but get this, Prophecies had carried it that Jesus shall be born, and according to those prophecies, He is coming to save people from their sins
The prophecy concerning Jesus’ coming was that He is coming to bring joy, redemption, and salvation in the world. The prophecy never painted Jesus as a troublemaker. It never painted him as an evil person.
For instance, let’s see one of the prophecies concerning Him.
Isaiah 61:1-3
[1]“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;[2]To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, [3]To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
So Jesus was actually coming to restore joy to the depraved world…
Now having seen this, People anticipated His coming.
You remember, the woman of Samaria, She asked Jesus not knowing He was the one, are you the promised Messiah?
Finally, He came. It happened that He was born in the days of Herod.
Now when people heard that He has been born, everyone was happy and rejoicing…
But when Herod heard it, see his reaction
Matthew 2:3 “When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.”
did you see his reaction? Herod was troubled.
He was unhappy
He was upset…
What does that tell you? He was a wizard
It is only witches and wizards that are angry with good things. A witch or wizard can never rejoice for good things. They are always allergic to good things
Tell a wizard you bought a car, problem.
Tell a witch you are about to get married hmm, problem
Tell a witch you have conceived, that day battle will start…
So you see Herod was a chief wizard.
Why was he troubled when others were happy that finally the promised Messiah has come? It is because he was a wizard

- O God let your fire collide with every herodic spirit in my life and destiny
- O God with your fire, pursue and destroy every Herod limiting my progress.
- With the sword of the Lord, I slay you Herod in pieces, declaring that your reign in my life has ended
- By the power of the living God, let the gathering of wizards over my marital destiny scatter
- You wizard that is resisting the fulfillment of my destiny in God, I set you ablaze
- I release the fire of the most high God to locate my village and waste the familiar powers of witchcraft
- By the anointing of Jesus Christ, I frustrate and waste witches and wizards speaking evil of me
- I cleans my name with the blood of Jesus from the register of witches and wizards
- I uproot every anti-success seed witches and wizards have planted in my life, family or marriage
- The bible says, “when Herod HEARD..
- Today I block the ears of witches and wizards to my progress and success by fire
- In the name of Jesus, I waste witches and wizards that are specialist in causing miscarriages of babies
- Today let shameful death be the lot of the herods saying no to my rising
So shall it be.
Prophetic declarations
- I declare you are blessed
- No witch or wizard will stop you.
- If you had been their victim in the past, today you’re free in the name of Jesus
- They won’t be able to reach or afflict you again.
