WALKING IN THE PATH OF GLORY
TEXT: JOHN 17:22, HEBREWS 2:10, ROMANS 9:23
INTRODUCTION
No man steps into glory without adequate preparations in one way or the other. God’s glory is priceless so He does not release it anyhow. Even Jesus had to work out the glory of God in His life. In John 17:1, the bible says;
“Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You.”
Jesus didn’t wake up one morning and demanded to be glorified. He worked for it and when the hour for it came, he placed a demand for it. Verse 4 and 5 opened it better.
John 17:4-5: I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. [5]And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
It was when he finished the work given to him by the father that He demanded for the glory. To command the glory of God and walk in its path, you must be ready to do the work attached to it. It is when you have done the work and finished it that you become eligible to walk in it. Lazy folks can’t manifest the glory of God.
Living outside His glory is living in shame. Romans 9:23 says:
“and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,”
His glory comes with riches the human mind can’t fathom. So missing His glory is simply forfeiting those riches it comes with. The glory of God is the sum total of His supernatural abilities. Every covenant seed of God is a carrier of His Glory but not all manifest it. It is one thing to carry His glory but it is another thing to manifests it.
THE NATURE OF HIS GLORY
- It is the glory that has no expiry date. Every other thing may expire but the glory of the Lord doesn’t. It is eternal. His glory can’t be outdated. It doesn’t depreciate rather it appreciates. No wonder why the bible says we go from one level of glory to another level of glory. Psalm 104:31: “The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.” The glory of the Lord endures forever. It transcends from generation to generation.
- It is a wonder-working and making glory. No man has ever stepped into the realms of glory without becoming a wonder. When Moses stepped into His glory, he became a wonder. No man was able to behold his face again.
- His glory is a carrier of His goodness. Exodus 33:18-19 says; Exodus 33:18-19: And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Everything that is called the goodness of the Lord is packaged in His glory. When you secure His glory, you secure His goodness.
- His glory is a lawbreaker. Exodus 40:34-35: Exodus 40:34-35 “Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. From the above scripture, we saw that the presence of glory prevented Moses from coming into the tabernacle. Moses in the old testament was a typology of the law. So the glory of the Lord has a way of stopping the operations of unfavorable laws from affecting us. His glory breaks the laws for us so that we can worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
- His glory commands the belief of men. John 2:11 says, This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. Immediately His glory was manifested, His disciples believed Him. The glory of God at work in the life of a man makes it for people to believe in God. The glory pulls the trigger of belief in their lives.
- His glory maketh rich. Phi 4:19: And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We have seen it earlier that there are riches in His glory. His glory makes one rich in all things.
- It is a life-given glory. Romans 6:4 made us to understand that Christ was raised from the dead by glory. That simply tells us that the glory of God has life in it. It gives life to things that are dead or that want to die in us.
Romans 6:4: Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
In the name of Jesus, I pray that the life that is in the glory of God will be to find expression in your life now. I resist the power of death in you by His glory in the name of Jesus.
HOW CAN ONE WALK IN HIS GLORY
- Dwell in the word of God – John 1:14
- Be consistent in doing good – Romans 2:7,9
- Place demand on His glory through prayers. Exo 33:18
PRAYERS
- O Lord bring me under the cloud of your glory.
- Thou hand of the Lord keep me in the path of your glory
- Thou glory of the Lord overshadow my life
- O Lord I release myself from every power resisting your glory in my life Jesus name
- O Lord let every personality of shame in my life expire now in the name of Jesus
- In the name of Jesus let every ancient altar working against my glory be set on fire now.
- In the name of Jesus, I resist every attitude in me the enemy wants to use to cut short the glory of the Lord in my life.
- I liberate myself from every assignment that has kept me away from the path of your glory.
- Today I rise from every negative state I found myself by the instrumentality of your glory
- O Lord cause the life in your glory to quicken my body from weakness and dryness
- In the name of Jesus O Lord through your glory access every good thing you have made available for me.
- I break every satanic law activated in my life by the glory of the Lord.
