Commanding Your Morning

Commanding Your Morning.

Introduction

Morning has been understood by many as the early hours of the day, yet there are many definitions to the word “Morning” because of its significant meaning;  people of different cultures and setting also have their unique understanding of the word “Morning” but we will only take a look at its definitions from the Bible point of view.

Other Definitions and meaning of MORNING

In Hebrew, morning means “Boqer”  or “Shachar” which means the breaking forth of light.

Scripture:  (Isaiah 58:8)

“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard”.(NKJV).

It can also mean “Mischar” which means “womb of the Morning”

(Psalm 110:3)

“Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth”.(NKJV)

When you look at the definitions you will discover that the morning hours play an important role in the very moments and events that took place in the Bible, it holds significant revelations on how to best utilize the privileges of seeing every new day. The word morning is also a prophetic word, which can best be understood through the definitions above.

COMMAND YOUR MORNING

The word command means “The ability to use or control something, and to dominate in an authoritative order”, it appeared about 2,050 times in the entire bible. The greatest command that had morning attached to it was a famous scripture recorded in (Job 38:12) “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, (NKJV).

Looking at the definition of command and the way the Lord addressed Job in the subsequent scripture, we will discover that the morning at all levels run with commands; the Lord asked Job a question which he did not answer, but that Job did not answer does not mean that the statement the Lord made was invalid and untrue, it may look strange to Job who might not have heard anything concerning commanding the morning, but it actually means something to someone who must have been commanding the morning all along as far as Job was ignorant of it; and if the major factor that defines command accords the commander the power to dominate and to give orders with authority, that it was never a light thing, and that was why the Lord asked Job if he has ever commanded his morning.

Commanding the morning to many may sound strange or unimportant, actually, it may be that the enemy must have done this, but today, you must understand that the morning hours receive commands and they can be dominated for you or against you.

WHAT TIME TO COMMAND THE MORNING

5:00am till 6:00am

Scripture: Mark 1:35

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.(NKJV). The most significant time to engage and command the morning is at the ending of the fourth watch and the beginning of the fifth watch of the morning which is the time between 4:30 am to 5:00 am.

Scripture: Luke 22:39-43.

Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. (NKJV)

Jesus observed these times in His ministry to the point that it became His custom. Our Lord Jesus observed a life of prayer all through the time of his ministry; most at times he prays on the mountain, but the most significant is the early hour’s prayer that he took as a custom. At the time he walked on the sea according to (Matthew 14:25) “Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea”.(NKJV). This was the time our Lord begins his early morning prayer, but he chooses to open the mystery of walking on the sea so as to teach his disciples that if they can look upon him, all will be well; this he did using Peter as an example. The most important thing to note in all these scriptures is the fact that some supernatural activities took place in all these times; such as our Lord Jesus walking on the sea, and the appearance of an angel who came and strengthened him.

BIBLICAL REVELATIONS AND EVENTS WHY AND WHEN WE SHOULD COMMAND OUR MORNING.

1. TO SHAKE WICKEDNESS AND EVIL OUT.

Scripture: Job 38:12-13

“Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? (NKJV).

To shake anything and to uproot it out, you must locate the root of what you want to uproot. When you take hold of your morning, you can sieve it and separate from it the tares and weed that the enemy wants to pass across your day;  the morning equips you with the ability to allow or disallow what begins and runs along your day after day life. This is powerful!!

Biblical Event:  Judges 6:28

And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, there was the altar of Baal, torn down; and the wooden image that was beside it was cut down, and the second bull was being offered on the altar which had been built. (NKJV).

When Gideon obeyed the Lord and took over the city as early as the morning, he was able to shake the city, and not only that, he cut out of the land the altar of Baal. The bible says that the altar of Baal was torn down and the wooden image that was beside it was cut down, and also a sacrifice which was set up by Gideon is already on fire. We will look at two things from that Scripture:

i: When the Altar of Baal was dismantled.

ii: When the Sacrifice of Gideon was on fire.

When the Altar of Baal was Dismantled:

…..And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, there was the altar of Baal, torn down; and the wooden image that was beside it was cut down”…

Looking at the first lines of the subsequent bible scripture, you will discover that when the men went to bed, they had their altars and wooden images intact, but when they came out early to prepare for their first-morning sacrifice which is normally carried out around 5:30 am to 6:30 am, they found out that their altars and everything have been dismantled. This is what happens when you command your morning, the forces of darkness will be dismantled and their worshipers will be confused.

2: When Gideon Sacrifice was Burning:

….“and the second bull was being offered on the altar which had been built”…

The second bull refers to the sacrifice of Gideon unto God, this can mean his prayer, his command, and also an altar was built in place to enforce the sacrifice. The moment you start commanding your morning, things begin to shift to your side, suddenly wickedness begins to dwindle, and immediately the Light of God comes alive.

PRAYER POINTS:

Job 38:12-13

“Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? (NKJV)

  1. Father in the name of Jesus, I declare that my heavens obey my decree this morning as I stand in the name of Jesus to pray and to give command.
  2. I declare over my morning and I pray over my day in the name of Jesus, starting from sunrise till sunset, they shall know their place.
  3. I declare Oh Lord, my day shall place opportunities before me to succeed and to progress in all that I do today in the name of Jesus.
  4. Father I decree, today shall not give place to the devil and to the powers that waste by the noontime in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  5. I command my day, let the ends of the earth open up for me, no boundaries no limit today in the name of Jesus. Amen
  6. Father in the name of Jesus, I shake wickedness out of my life, just as Gideon rose early and succeeded in shaking the powers of Baal in the name of Jesus.
  7. You powers of Baal represented in life as hindrance, delay, foundational powers, witchcraft operations, demonic charms, jinxes, amulets, voodoo dust, talisman, be shaken and be cut off in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  8. Father I decree upon my life, family, career and destiny, let the force of darkness be totally shaken out today out our lives in the name of Jesus. Amen.

2: TO PROPHETICALLY ORDER THE DAY AND TO INTERCEDE

Scripture: Psalm 101:8-9

Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD, And let my cry come to You.(NKJV).

Biblical Event:  Genesis 28:18-19

Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city had been Luz previously. (NKJV)

Prophetic prayers are often associated with the act of deliverance or judgment, the bible reveals that …..“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”(NKJV) Revelation 19:10; but most people do not see themselves as prophets. In the word of the Lord in  (1 John 2:20) “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. (NKJV) This shows that you have the Holy Spirit in you, whatever you said that is what the Lord will do, do not think it is in vain when you declare prophetic words over your life and your destiny. When you command the morning, you can shape and build-up was not in place prophetically and as well intercede for a need and the Lord will provide it.

Jacob was not a prophet in quote but he rose early in the morning after having an encounter with the Lord, he began to intercede for the place where he had slept; he began to prophesy unto the land, he also renamed the land from “Luz”, a name which bears an identity with the people of the Canaanites to “Bethel” which means the house of God. The bible says he raised an altar and kept on pouring oil until his prayers were over; this makes a lot of sense when we talk about setting up the early morning prayer altar.

PRAYER POINT:

Scripture: Psalm 101:8-9

Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD, And let my cry come to You. (NKJV)

  1. Father I bless your name for your great grace is upon my life, am grateful, thank you Lord in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  2. Father, I thank you for the word of your mouth, your name is above all every other name and I worship you forever in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  3. Father, I pray this morning and I destroy whatever it is that represents wickedness, evil practices in my day. In the name of Jesus.
  4. Lord, I prophetic speak into my day, let all the channels of help be opened for me today In the name of Jesus. Amen.
  5. Lord, as I move into the city and advance into the day, let the strongholds of evildoers, sorcerers, magicians, and demonic forces be broken Into pieces in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  6. Father, today I prophesy upon my life, let the light come out of the darkness in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  7. Father, today I prophesy upon my family let their divine covering upon everyone in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  8. Oh Lord, I prophesize that the doors of favor, breakthrough, success, strength, wisdom, excellence, and progress are open in the name of Jesus. Amen.
