COMMANDING THE NIGHT

 COMMANDING THE NIGHT

Introduction:

Psalms: 104 vs 19

“He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. 20 Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth”.

The night speaks of the time the sun sets, this begins at the 11th hour;  eleven speaks of separation and division, this means that at the 11th hour which will be represented as 5:00 pm in the modern-day 24hours clock is the gate that separates the day from the night with regards to its prophetic number meaning.

The Hebrew word for Evening is “Erebh” which means separation of light; this is true with all the evening hours, which pick up at 5:00 pm or the 11th hour.

The night session which is naturally triggered by the 11th hour or the 5:00 pm is usually associated with rest and retreat, but this is not for every creature. While the humans or the sons of men going back from work and return to their homes to rest, the animals takes the night session as a time to look for their food and to move about. The night session is a time of darkness when the sun goes down from a particular place and faces another place; a lot of activities take place during the night session. Mostly by midnight, when all have gone to rest, the supernatural opens up to the natural and to humanity. The night session is often associated with the moon because while it is the day, the light of the sun hides the light of the moon; but at the night hour, the moon gives its light. The power of the moon so much influences the night session, because the moon gives its lights by reflection; which marks the night session as the time of reflection of the works of the day and the way ahead, it is a time of setting out to watch. Setting out to watch that is often found with the night session is because night promotes darkness and evil thrives in darkness; so the night session is a time to set watch and to keep watch over the works and workers of darkness.

In other hand, to pray involves a lot; intercession is tied to sacrifice and total submission to the will of God; it is at the 11th watch that the Lord meets one for interaction as such a person prays.

3: Evening Hour is a Time Of Reconciliation:

Time: 6:00pm

Significance:

Elijah the Prophet was waiting for the beginning of the time for evening offering, which starts at the ending of the 11th Watch till the 12th watch. This is a time that is needed to restore back the obedience of the Israelites back to the God of their fathers; he waited from the 6th hour till the 11th hour which marks the 12th hour. This is a time for pastors to pray for their converts, and to pray for the Land; it is the time to commit any unbeliever into the hands of God.

Bible Instance:

1 Kings 18:29-30

And when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention. Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. (NKJV)
